Preparing for Installation

  • Make sure the printer, router, and computer are all turned on, and that the computer is connected to the same wireless network to which you are connecting the printer.
  • Disconnect the USB cable if it is connected to the printer.
  • Reset the wireless settings as following
  • Power off the printer.
  • Press and hold both the WiFi and Cancel Buttons.
  • Power on the printer and Hold the buttons until all the lights blink in unison, then release the buttons.
  • From your PC go to Start >  All Programs > HP > Wireless Configuration and follow the steps on screen.
  • Optional: If you previously installed the software for a USB connection and now want to change to a wireless network connection, remove the USB installation before you continue.

Note: you may be required to temporarily plug a USB cable.

Download and Installation the Driver 

  • Turn on the printer.
  • If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer. The software installation prompts you to connect the cable if needed.
  • Under content click Download for the full software package, or click Basic Drivers for other driver options.

Connect to the wireless network

  • When prompted, select the Connect through a wireless network option.
  • When prompted, connect the USB cable to the computer.
  • When the installation is complete, print a configuration report to make sure the printer has an SSID name.
    1. Make sure the Ready light is on and that the printer is idle and silent.
    2. Press and hold the Cancel button, and release it when the Ready light begins blinking.
      The Configuration report prints.
  • When the Configuration Report prints, disconnect the USB cable from the printer.
    Your printer is now set up to use over a wireless network connection.

Turn on the printer. If your printer is not connected to the computer with a USB cable, connect the cable from the printer.
